Painting the pouches...

Following on from the previous Pathfinder painting tutorial I'll move onto how to paint the pouches and backpack.

I really didn't want to go down the route of standard leather as IMO Eldar have advanced past using animal skin as clothing. So to give it a synthetic feel I decided on a light grey for the belts and pouches. As before it's a Chaos Black undercoat.

Stage 1: Adeptus Battlegrey

Stage 2: A watered down Badab Black was applied (ensuring recesses were filled)

Stage 3: First highlight was simply Adeptus Battlegrey again.

Stage 4: Second Highlight was a watered down 50/50 mix of Adeptus Battlegrey and Astronomican Grey. (Be careful with this part as with it watered down it can run into the recesses and ruin your shading if you hold too much paint on your brush). The watereing down of this allows the previous highlight to show through a small amount and "blends the colour better.

Stage 5: Extreme highlight pure Astronomican Grey.

Stage 6: The buttons and buckles where simply painted Dwarf Bronze then highlighted Shining Gold.

That about sums up the lot of it! The reason I use the foundation paints for this is to get a nice even coat and because of the rest of the model a clean bright contrast helps it stand out,

I hope this helped anyone reading it, next up I'll cover the weapons.

Cheers, Terabyt3!
